CIO Insights: The CIO-CDO collaboration on a master data organization

In our ongoing interviews with IBM thought leaders, I had the privilege to speak with Inderpal Bhandari, chief global data officer at IBM. Interestingly, this position marks Bhandari’s second stint with IBM after starting his career in research with IBM shortly after receiving his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University. To his credit, Bhandari is also responsible for creating chief data officer (CDO) roles for three prominent healthcare organizations prior to his return to IBM.

In this episode of CIO Insights, Bhandari and I discuss the many nuances of data, the value of analytics, and the importance of chief information officers (CIOs) and CDOs working within a very close partnership. We also talk about why building a comprehensive data strategy is vital for organizations.
